Numbers 13:17-33
It is a great honor to be asked to be an Olympian. Ask any of the athletes who are called to go out and represent their countries and do their very best. As followers of Christ, we are also called to be Olympians, running the race God’s called us to and empowered us to run. But the race isn’t always smooth. The landscape isn’t free of obstacles. A true athlete faces his or her share of challenges, doubts and fears. What we need then most of all isn’t mere technical skill or bigger muscles. It starts with the heart, with the courage to step up to the starting block and keep on running, especially when the competition looms large and menacing.
It takes courage to follow Christ. Where will you find the courage you need? |
